I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in my lungs, lymph nodes in my chest, and skin in 2000. No biopsy was done, however, I had all the symptoms - fatigue, pain, breathing problems, cough, and euthothema nodisum. At the time, I was an active woman, lap swimming @ the Y 3-4 times a week, walking and playing badmonton. These activities became harder to do and my boughts of lung infections and bronchitis became more often and took longer to get over.
I moved to Calgary (from Winnipeg) in 2004 and have seen some wonderful doctors here. I finally had a skin biopsy done in 2011 and was confirmed to having sarcoidosis. I've had a few flare-ups in the last 6 years but now have diabetes. Staying active was hard before, now it's even harder but I keep trying to not let these diseases get me down.
Stay happy and don't take your health for granted!
